Last term's learning

P2 were very busy in the run up to Christmas. Our topic was Knights and Castles and we learned about many aspects of a knight’s life and the structure of a castle. We also took part in the National Book Week celebrations and focused on the Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch. As part of our study we tasted different food from the book and made a bar chart showing which one was our favourite. Finally, the pupils performed very well during our class assembly, displaying their learning across different subjects.

Our current learning

This term, we will start with our traditional Scottish focus in the lead up to the whole school Burns supper. The Primary 2s will be taking part in the Burns Supper with their performances of the Canadian Barn Dance and the song ‘The world must be comin tae an end’. During money week, Primary 2 will be setting up their own shops and will visit Poundland to purchase their shop items. We will be learning all about how to give change and will be selling our items to Primary 1. Following on from this, we will be learning about weather before our final focus week on celebrating diversity.

Class events

The whole school Burns Supper will be taking place at the end of January and will have our second class assembly in May. The class will be visiting Poundland as part of their money matters week. There will also continue to be Forest Schools activities once a month for the class.

PE

P2’s PE takes place on Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings. Please remember to bring PE kit on these days.
