Last term's learning

P5/4S had a very busy term in the run up to Christmas.  We learned about weather and climate, including climate zones, the effect the equator has on our weather, the influence of weather and we investigated weather in different climate zones around the world.  We also took part in the National Book Week celebrations, we completed a novel study of Gangsta Granny by David Walliams and we visited the local library. We have been working hard learning about feelings and behaviours through PATHS.

Our current learning

This term, we will start with our Scottish focus which we will continue up until the whole school Burns Supper. We will be learning about Robert Burns and we will be taking a trip to the Burns Museum and Cottage, where we will be learning about Burns when he was a Bairn.

During money fortnight we will be creating a healthy smoothie in our co-operative learning teams.  We will be given a budget and have to make as much profit as we can.

Following on from this, we will be learning about agriculture and the food produced in Scotland.

Class events

P5/4S will be taking part in the whole school Burns Supper at the end of January.  We will be performing the three sheepskins dance, the poem ‘The blue doo’ by Jimmy Copeland and the song ‘Touch the sky’.

We have our second class assembly in March.
